Background: Talha Ahmed, Robin Jiang, Joshua Cho, and I made this game for the Titan Hacks Hackathon 2020. This game is playable on ajayliu.com. We are high school students who are interested in computer science in California. This was the first hackathon for the majority of us, and we were excited to create something together. Throughout the process, we learned a lot about how games are created in all of its frontiers. We programmed in C# through Unity, created music through Chrome Music Lab, and drew most of our art through pixilart.com. A big challenge that we faced was the concept of what our game was going to be about. Some of the guidelines that we had set were that the game should be 2D, since 3D graphics would be a little too challenging for us, and that the game should implement minimal physics. As you can see, gravity and collision detecting are big parts of Bounce Architect, but we tried to stay away from extremely complicated physics. This was to reduce as many possible potential points of errors as we could, since this was our first hackathon together. Overall, Bounce Architect implements many of the things that we learned both today on the fly, as well as throughout our years in high school and middle school. Most importantly, we all had fun building the game and are very proud of the final product!
