Inspiration

We wanted to create an AI that could challenge someone strategically. Unlike just another Chess AI, we decided to make a unique tower defence experience.

What it does

You play against a powerful AI, which sends bread through your defences, rats. The AI carefully selects which enemy to send towards you, learning your style of play and responding appropriately.

How we built it

We used the Unity game engine and the AI was trained using data based on how users play. The art and music were drawn and composed ourselves, no external assets were needed.

Challenges we ran into

Feature-creep, and sleep deprivation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The fact it was finished in such a small time is what we're proud of. It also is cool to see an AI play, and to notice how it learns from you. It is a thought-provoking challenge.

What we learned

The big thing we learned was working as a team. Figuring out the flow of Git commits was a tough task. We also learned new techniques in art from each other.

What's next for Bread TD

Polishing the art, adding more towers and enemies, adding upgrades. This will give the AI more data points too.
