Inspiration
The expert panel mentioned they'd like something like this, and the only one available is a commercial version that only focuses on dogs. I am expanding it to not only focus on many animals but also crowdsource the "supervised learning" of the detection algorithms.
What it does
Upload an image, get a breed guess. Guess on others' photos. Free for everyone. Protects against inappropriate photos. Improves based on submitted guesses.
How I built it
I started by forking off the AWS S3 example code. I'm initially relying on AWS Rekognition but I have built a 'fallback' design to allow it to eventually also take advantage of Google Vision and tensorflow.

What's next for BreedDetector
I intend to help shelters and individuals who want a quick easy suggestions of what their animal is. I am thinking of establishing a non-profit stance with the support of sponsors and donations.
