Reculturvate

Inspiration

Collaborations between companies is a very enticing monetary prospect. International joint ventures are on the rise, but they often fail as do joint ventures and strategic alliances (van Oudenhoven & van der Zee, 2002). In fact, one of the elements which play a large role in shaping the result of these ventures are cultural related factors (Cartwright & Cooper, 1993; Harrigan, 1987; Meschi, 1997).

It is clear that these needs to be addressed to increase likelihood of success - but how? What tools and applications exist for this? This is where we come in. Presenting... Reculturvate

What it does

Reculturvate provides insight into ones company culture by providing an engaging workplace culture quiz for employees to finish, complete with their own workplace culture type. It allows companies to stake out potential collaborative partners, as well as provide vital insight into current collaborations by comparing cultural reports of each company.

How we built it

Reculturvate runs on flask, and functions as a web application coded in Python that utilises MongoDB.

Challenges we ran into

Unfortunately we implemented much more code in the back end, but had issues integrating it with the front end so it was not able to be available in our end product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the questions we provide to employees to complete. Quirky, quality, questions. No boring corporate speak.

What we learned

One needs to be prepared for all sorts of challengers and unexpected variables when create a web application.

What's next for Reculturvate

Added features - see who else from other companies are the same type as you - and connect. Fine tune the algorithm to determine if there is issues within a companies culture.
