Inspiration
I had a bunch of projects and hackathon ideas in a notebook, but it was getting difficult to go through my ideas. I wanted a way to track my progress on different projects, as well as collect links, like tutorial videos and github videos, so that I can have all the resources for a project in one place.
What it does
The website helps you see all your ideas in one place, which is great for a hackathon or if you're bored and want to start building. You can edit the details about each project you build, which is nice if you're collecting links on how to implement something new.
How I built it
I used Reactjs for front-end, and MongoDB and Commonjs for back-end. The theme is inspired by construction because of the name of the site, so the background resembles a blue-print where you plan projects.
Challenges I ran into
I had to challenge myself to learn MongoDB, Reactjs, and Commonjs within the duration of the hackathon. This was especially hard because my prior experience consisted of only frontend HTML, CSS, Javascript, and I've never done backend development to this extent before.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I finally understand back-end development.
What we learned
Don't go solo for a full-stack project... especially if you have no back-end experience...
What's next for Build More Tech
I guess I'll "Build More Tech" now... (ahaha)
