Inspiration
In the trading world, market behaviors are quite dynamic. Especially in today’s booming trading, it sometimes becomes hard to predict when and where to trade for the best returns on your stock. With an automated system, you can be able to live a hustle-free life knowing that all your trading is being carried out by a trading robot. Trading robots are programs that use mathematical algorithms in deciding whether to trade. From the market fluctuations, the trading robots are able to come up with signals that are translated to generate orders that make it easy to trade. Trading robots eliminate the psychological strains involved in the trade.
What it does
BULSEH is a Stock trading bot that helps users to analyze market sentiments. It basically uses Twilio API services to send SMS to users about the current market sentiment.
How we built it
- Trading algo: alpaca-trading-api, python
- Backend: Django
- Connecting with customers via text messages: Twilio
Challenges we ran into
We had several big challenges with each part of the stack. It was really difficult to integrate the ml model with the Django backend as every one of us was new to Django.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a way to stay in touch while being socially distant! And we love this idea that we collectively came up with based on our different interests!!!
What we learned
We learned about the challenges of deploying ML models, adding interactivity, integrating separate projects into one cohesive one.
What's next for BULSEH
Stock trading algorithm and backend integration, prettier frontend, giving recommendations for forex trading, saving people from becoming the victim of investment or stock fraud.
