Inspiration

I am going live alone for the rest of my life (at least, that's the plan for now) because I am a person who enjoys solitude; however, I want folks that I care (and cares back, hopefully) to know that there is something wrong going on in my life if there is one.

That's why I wrote this app.

What it does

It wants the user to input two phone numbers (or just one), and the amount of days before it panics. If the amount of days that the user previously submitted has gone by, the panic message is sent to the numbers the user previously provided.

How I built it

Used Android and Kotlin.

Challenges I ran into

Combining the alarm manager API and Intents was lot more challenging than I thought.

Learning more about on how Fragment navigation works.

Fragment navigation and AlarmManger API.

What's next for PrepperBeacon

Deploy it to the Google Play.

Jean Paul Sartre said something along the line of, "one person's concern is concern of the many." I have a feeling that there are other solitude loving folks out there that could use this app.
