Inspiration
As students, we looked brainstormed ideas that we, personally, would believe could be beneficial to our own lives. At first, we began to think on a broader scale, such as a project that would support the medical field (some sort of surgery simulation learning tool). We then made the switch to the Education field as we both have experience as students and, of course, have ideas of implementations we would like to see to our school network to improve our learning ability. We eventually settled on a calendar tool, though one much more effective for students (but also viable for use for adults) than existing calendar applications.
What it does
Our calendar allows students to organize events and mark different tasks with different tags to ensure the best possible management. We also looked to implement other features that existing calendar applications do not have, such as marking tasks as complete.
How we built it
Our team collaborated over call and split up the work with each of us working on our own parts. Eventually, we were able to put a product together and successfully submit it.
Challenges we ran into
Unfortunately, we ran into some time trouble and were unable to push out a frontend for our application.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Brainstorming the idea was a huge success for us - we thoroughly enjoyed the thinking process to develop a plan.
What we learned
The amount of time that it takes to develop a large-scale project is great and should not be underestimated.
