Inspiration
We all have emotions but do not always know the cause of them. Exploration doesn't have to be outward but inward of our daily thoughts and feelings. By incorporating co:here, we give the app a more human feel and allow our users to pour out negative thoughts and receive motivational boost without actually having to bother an actual human being.
What it does
It takes in user input by providing a happiness scale from 1 to 10. Takes in user input for categories of emotional stress. The user inputs a 1 sentence summary of what caused their feeling. We use co:here to generate a motivational sentence in response to their stressed and to find a short video to cheer the user up based on their input. After being given these resources, the user answers another happiness scale from 1 to 10.
How we built it
We used React native for the front end for the mobile application, Python as backend, Co:here for NLP, and Asturary Tech to store sensitive user data
Challenges we ran into
We weren't familiar with all of the languages we used and tried to learn React Native. Unfortunately because of this, we had issues combining the frontend and backend of the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to train the data set for Co:here and generate fairly accurate responses. We made an elegant design with a soothing color scheme and simplistic font.
What we learned
-Learnt new technologies such as: React Native, Js, CSS, Cohere API call and training, Estuary Tech API calls. -React Router, Axios React -Learnt to work under high pressure -Learnt to work as a team in a agile methodology.
