Inspiration
Inspired by the creative, collaborative, and competitive nature of charade, we wanted to create a game where users can find joy in their next dreadful CS study sessions.
What it does
It's a multiplayer webapp game where players take turns coding a given word related to programming while other people try to guess and earn points.
How we built it
We built a front-end React app that fetches real-time data from Firebase and updates every user to support multiplayer mechanics.
Challenges we ran into
Because it was our first time using Firebase, we ran into challenges including data retrieval.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a fun and interactive game that can be useful for many coders. Some elements we were proud of include making avatars for each user, implementing a chat function, and seeing our project come to life!
What we learned
More time should be spent on designing the structure of the projects/data/etc. compare to the time spent actually coding
What's next for Carades
Implementing a waiting room and tracking user activity.
