Inspiration

Many people are still unaware of what carbon footprint is, and how they can contribute towards a greener future. When we see the statistics that globally, it's staggering to see how small acts of greenness can contribute positively towards decreasing carbon footprint. Moreover, mediums like travelling, food, clothes, using plastics and so many others, are also greatly responsible for the carbon footprint being generated today, sharing about how much footprint is being generated and how they can reduce it will be highly impactful.

Our application is a platform that is dedicated to spread awareness about Greenness and carbon footprint in an interactive manner.

What it does

It's a portal where user can calculate the carbon footprint as well as learn a lot more about them in various interactive ways!

Key Features

Carbon footprint calculator: This section of the application, helps user calculate their carbon footprint in various channels like, travel by air, car, motorbike, public transit. It also calculates fuel to CO2 equivalent, how many trees it took to create paper and even calculates CO2 for personal activities like food consumption, clothes, using plastic and more! This is implemented using the Carbon FootPrint API and all results are fetched in real time.
Analytics: Helping user calculate their carbon footprint is great but showing it in forms of charts and graphs is even easier to understand. It'll help user analyze their past usage, moreover, reflect on it. An easy-to-understand interface!
Green Acts tracker: Here a user can add various acts of greenness they might have done and log it all year round. Inspired from GitHub contribution graph, we aim to help user log their daily activities and motivate them to contribute much more towards a greener future!
Gaming Zone: A fun multiplayer game to play with friends at the same time knowing more about carbon footprint, trees, and climate! The questions are on these greenness related topics to support raising awareness regarding these issues in an interactive manner. -Its features are: 1) Creates room and generates code 2) Share code with friends and allow them to join the same room 3) Multiplayer (up to four players) 4) Random topics generated at every game and room 5) Random question pertaining to the topic with varying difficulty levels generated at every game and every room 6) Scoreboard 7) Sound on Please 8) Cool animations!
An additional feature is a Forest 3D environment. At times users might just want to sit in a forest like environment and relax, here we've a 3D environment with some nice background sounds of birds chirping!

How we built it

We built it using Angular and Firebase.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing all the features in the given time constraint was one of the major challenges for us! Managing our time, the right way helped us a lot in successfully building the product. It was an amazing learning experience for us overall!
