Manage Waste, Reduce Carbon Emissions.

The inspiration to take the topic of Carbon Emissions comes from currently going Climate Change issues which are affecting many lives around the world.

We have built an android application which tries to scan the images of different types of waste generated in household and commercially and based on the carbon footprint value, suggests steps to how it should be managed and how reduction of emissions could be possible.

We as a team of 6 members first divided the roles among ourselves and build it according to our idea we first thought. We made some additions throughout the project period by taking into consideration each of the team members opinion and implementing it. We used mainly typescript, React-Native, GCP, Firebase

The most important challenge we ran into was to first know what everyone in the group has experience with in which of the technical and non-technical skills. The second challenge was the process of integration of frontend and backend. And the last challenge was completing the app on time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of are we have succesfully trained the model of our project on GCP for 8 long hours and got succesful results at the end. We have succesfully achieved our idea what we thought at the start of the hackathon by building the android app.

We learned a lot of new skills which included technical and non-technical. We met a lot of new people and tried to learn their language, culture, and their values. We also imbibed in us a lot of patience and learned hpw to focus on one task for a longer duration.

In the coming years, we would keep our app updated and try to upgrade our app according to the problems being generated in the Carbon emissions field.
