Last friday night, one of our teammates came down with excruciating back pain that no amount of OTC paracetamol or ibuprofen is able to fix. She spent 2 hours back and forth on the phone with NHS and then she was finally sent to A&E where she waited 6 hours - in pain, emotionally distressed, surrounded by sick people in a small room - feeling hopeless until her name was finally called.
Turns out.. There are 25M others in the UK who faces the same problem every year. And even though the NHS is trying to limit the wait time to max 4 hours, 98% of major care providers exceed that cap...causing over 4500 deaths from overcrowding and long delays in A&Es annually.
We wanted to address this issue and make our lives and healthcare systems more productive.
