Revolutionizing Air Cargo Payments

Inspiration

Our journey began at the IATA ONE RECORD hackathon in Doha, where we were driven by a mission to address the inefficiencies in the air cargo payment process. We were inspired by the challenges faced by freight forwarders, agents, and organizations like IATA, including misaligned contract terms, fragmented payment processes, and the inefficiencies of traditional payment methods like cheques.

What We Learned

Throughout this project, we delved deep into the complexities of the air cargo industry. We learned the importance of streamlined financial transactions and integrated digital solutions. Our interactions with industry experts and potential users provided invaluable insights, shaping our approach to developing a user-friendly and effective solution.

How We Built It

We built our solution on a foundation of innovation and collaboration. Our approach involved:

  • ONE Record Integration: We developed a system to listen to ONE Record systems, ensuring real-time tracking of shipment updates.
  • Automated Payment Gateways: We integrated multiple international payment gateways, including Stripe, to facilitate seamless transactions.

Challenges Faced

Our journey was not without its hurdles. Key challenges included:

  • One Record: Understanding the One Record Data Model and working with Deligations and Authorization of PATCH.
  • Ensuring Seamless Integration: Aligning our system with the diverse existing platforms used in the air cargo industry was complex.
  • Security and Compliance: Balancing ease of use with robust security measures and compliance with international financial regulations was critical.
