Inspiration

The idea came from the need to connect skilled workers with users who need their services. In many communities, finding reliable and trusted worker for various tasks can be challenging. The idea was to create a platform that not only bridge the gap, but also incorporates a social good aspect. By offering both paid and volunteer(non-paid) options, cariTukang aims to promotes a sense of community by inspiring people to help and support each other.

What it does

CariTukang is a platform designed to connect users with skilled workers that offer a wide range of services. This includes some core features:

  1. Paid / Volunteer options
  2. Profile
  3. Service Matching

How we built it

We've developed the idea in a website using Tailwind & CSS as Front-End, Laravel and PHP as Back-End, and utilizing MySQL as database. We also develop some non-technical development that include product backlog, and ERD.

Challenges we ran into

Aside from the limited time in website development, we've spends quite time in the ERD designing. There are quite a lot of scenarios that we're discussing which took some of our precious time. The strategy of development was different with the time given, hence we're having a bit problem to adapt to the condition.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We really just push ourselves to the limit, trying to finish a task that normally is finished in week or months to just 36 hours.

What we learned

Since this is our first hackathon, we've some new insight regarding hackathon activity. We also learn to simplified and speeding up the development process by a little since we're not used to creating a project in 36 hours yet.

What's next for CariTukang

  1. Building more additional feature to provide a quality platform.
  2. Adding a protection from fraudulent activities such as fake profiles or scam.
  3. Integrating and implementing payment
  4. Chat service.
