Setting multiple alarms every morning can be a pain, but a majority of college students do it anyway. Whether we've got an early morning test, a job interview, or just a class that we don't want to miss, we often stagger anywhere from five to fifteen alarms to make sure we wake up in the morning. If we could change that, we would change the lives of millions of college students.

But we can't. So instead, we decided to automate the process with an app called Casper. Our application takes two inputs–when you want to start trying to wake up, and when you must absolutely be awake–and staggers up to fifteen alarms guaranteed to wake you up. Early alarms use a soft ringtone and are spaced far apart, while the later alarms blare loudly and come one after another. Users can opt-in to verifying their alertness by inputting a passcode to cancel the alarms.

We're also working on haptic feedback via the Apple Watch.
