Inspiration
As a self learning developer I followed and watched tons of playlists on youtube. But I didn't have any certificate to show on my linkedIn profile or to recruiters which could tell them how much time I have spent in understanding the domain. Hence I wanted to build something that could help every self learning developer.
What it does
The current status of the webapp allows user to add a playlist to their library, and watch videos. After all the videos are watched they will be provided with a certificate.
How we built it
This was built using React for the frontend, Express and Nodejs for the backend and Google firebase for the database and authentication. A great deal of time was spent in making the UI/UX smooth as ever since the Gen z looks for a smooth app rather than old looking ones.
Challenges we ran into
Running up a firebase server for the first time. Trying to add User auth, and designing pages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Making a beautiful and smooth UI/UX to our best.
- Spinning up a full stack web app within the time limit.
- Making something that helps the students in their journey to becoming a better developer. ## What we learned
- How Firebase works.
- How tough it can be to convert designs into React.
- Learning to use a suitable color pallete that is eye apealing and not too complex. ## What's next for CerTube Various quizes will be organised for certification with a minimum passing criteria. Users can also track other users to get a healthy competitive environment around themselves.
