Inspiration

After many of us worked at some of the largest Canadian banks, a common problem we realized was that the traditional process of verifying financial statements for KYC compliance is slow, inefficient and insecure. Oftentimes common challenges include data tampering, lengthy verification processes interbank trust barriers and more which lead to a slow and tedious process for customer onboarding. Furthermore we realized when financial statements are required for any business activity such as a credit score, the process of verifying their information and ensuring their accurateness can raise concerns which further slow down the transaction

What it does

ChainedSimple is a solution that allows user to upload financial documents to Blockchain, access documents with a Wallet Address to be shared with others, while also allowing one to use AI to analyze their data. With these solution, we are able to ensure the integrity of the data while keeping the data more secured.

How we built it

The Application is built using Flask to support the backend where we used the verbwire api to mint the NFT and add it to the customers wallet address. Furthermore, the AI that is used to analyze their data is done with the cohere API and lastly the frontend is built with standard html, css, and javascript

Challenges we ran into

In the start there was a huge learning curve as none of us had experience with blockchain and this was the first hack we have done implementing anything requiring knowledge of NFTs. Furthermore, alot of us weren't familiar with flask and how variable scope worked when passing it from one page/function to another which caused some blockers as we were developing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are EXTREMELY proud to successfully implement the verbwire API to the best of our ability. From minting the NFT with metadata to attaching it to the wallet address and analyzing their data. Each step of the journey was a milestone we celebrated as it meant we were one step closer to Sleeping.

What we learned

From this hack we learned how the blockchain works and more importantly how purpose behind the blockchain and what benefits it has. Furthermore we also understood the true meaning behind how adding more hands to the wheel won’t make the car drive faster—it’ll just make it harder to steer!

What's next for ChainedSimple

For ChainedSimple we hope to further improve the UI and more specially be able to add workflows where the user is able to share their NFT to someone else to view once through something like a QR Code, that way if they are required to share maybe a credit score, it will be right at their fingertips
