What is the problem that we address? We address the problem of not having a way to connect to new people in a meaningful and deeper way. Current social media may create many connections but they do not bring the deep conversations in challenging topics. It can be difficult to talk about challenging topics with people especially in a relaxed and understanding community. It becomes even harder when trying to interact with people in person. We are in need for meaningful social interaction and understanding in today’s polarized world.

Why did we pick this problem and how does it address it?

Chatte introduces a way to have thoughtful back and forth conversations with other people in person. Our mission is to bridge divides and enrich lives by transforming coffee gatherings into a spark for meaningful dialogue and community connection. And coffee chats are a popular method for meeting people since it is a casual low stakes way to talk to new people. We combine a way to have deep conversations, meet people, drink coffee, and support local cafes all in 1 app. By having these in person meetings in local cafes, it supports them as they provide hot coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. Over a cup of coffee, people can expand their horizons, talk about topics that are important to them, or just enjoy everyone's presence.
