Inspiration

Being students in our final year, we are all exploring outside the realm of the university. Moving from an education-oriented lifestyle to a work-oriented is a constant hurdle that we have to overcome.

What it does

Chatty Cherry primarily uses an NLP model built by Co:Here to help new computer science graduates prepare for interviews. The model uses data to generate unique questions that challenge the users to think outside the box. There are times when the questions do not make sense or are unsolvable, however, this is the exact response we were looking for, as the ability to identify problems by thinking outside the box is an essential skill for programmers.

The model also uses classification to help people socialize by rating their conversation openers.

How we built it

We used the Co:Here API, which is trained on the most commonly asked interview questions by the top 50 tech companies.

Challenges we ran into

Connecting the back end of the model with the front end of the react app was quite difficult. As a result, we were unable to visually represent the classification portion of the model

What's next for Chatter Cherry

The next steps would be to fully connect the front and back ends together and move to an app structure instead of a website. For the model, the goal would be to collect more and more data to continue providing unique and useful interview prep questions.
