Use of Twitter and Google News

CITYCUBE

A web app that allows people to connect in cities. Currently only implemented for the city of Schenectady. Gets data from Facebook, Twitter and Google News. Looking to scale up to getting all public Facebook events for a given city and creating a map and calander based on that data. This would require the implementation of a search function fo find cities.

I worked on using the data from Facebook to get the markers to display on the map. I haven't done a lot of web development before so I had to pick up the basics pretty quickly to be able to contribute to the project.

Alex Belsten
I worked mostly on the UI/design, particularly with the calendar widget. Having only worked with HTML/Javascript a handful of times before, the experience was a crash course in web development for me.

Rylan O'Connell
I worked mostly on the API integration and getting data from different sources. Once the core functionality was added I worked on the CSS mainly. It was a great experience making something that could be used to help many people!
