Inspiration
A lot of the times city resources are spread thing and aimed haphazardly. Surveyors can't possibly identify every single key issue that plagues the city and they really primarily on citizen reports. The problem is, when was the last time you reported something? Reporting is a lot of work and requires you to go out of your way to find where and what department to report to.
What it does
This app solves the problem. The website we have built will allow citizens to quickly snap a picture of something in their city and immediately report it to the city government. Afterwards moderators will sort highly voted problems and combine posts as well as direct the complaints to the appropriate departments. The most upvoted posts will gain monetary compensation from the government weekly in order to promote citizen interaction and foster a positive culture where the government does their job better, citizens help, and are rewarded.
How we built it
We attempted to build our website using figma and reactjs.
Challenges we ran into
Using figma and reactjs. Reactjs is not as easy as we thought it would be as well as appropriately using the right buttons and functions in figma for the pages to properly transfer into a reactjs project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the fact that we figured out an idea.
What we learned
We should probably learn how to use reactjs if we have any hope of getting into prototyping websites in the future.
What's next for CityPulse
What's next is probably building the app into something functional instead of demonstrational.
