Inspiration

We were inspired by the old games you'd find on the small corners of the internet, like coolmath games or agar.io and other more browser-based games that created lots of fun childhood memories.

What it does

You can compete against your friends in the game to beat each other up (virtually) and gain bragging rights. In the game, one may choose to click one of three buttons, causing its corresponding progress bar to reach 100, leading to victory! Users may first make a private game with a unique game identifier on the home page; they will then be directed to the game to compete. Competing with friends over easy means of communication is recommended to maximize coordination between the start and banter toward the end.

How we built it

We built a flask server with python to host the game, and made the GUI with HTML, Javascript, and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

We first wanted to try using cockroach DB, but after 8 pm there were suddenly difficulties connecting to the server and we were unable to resolve them, so we chose to use the flask framework and try a different project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One feature we are particularly proud of is getting the project to work--Initially just installing a virtual environment and learning flask and HTML and javascript.

What we learned

We learned more HTML development methods and javascript, as well as how to use flask.

What's next for Click Racer

We planned to have more elements we could unfortunately not include, such as having a loader in between the page switches, and a separate page for a winner. We also wanted to have some form of donations or revenue to support charity and a note on the bottom about how much we've raised.
