Inspiration
I was inspired by me and my friends trying to get into new habits but having trouble keeping each other accountable. Staying consistent can be hard, but having a group to share progress with makes it more fun and motivating.
What it does
Every day, users must post a picture of themselves completing their habitual activity to their group to keep the habit streak alive. If anyone in the group misses the deadline, the streak resets for everyone, creating a sense of shared accountability and motivation.
How we built it
We built ClockedIn using React for the front end and styled it with TailwindCSS to create an eye-catching user interface.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into included integrating a real-time database to accurately track streaks across groups and setting up user authentication and managing secure logins.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully building a beautiful and intuitive UI
- Creating a variety of group habits for users to participate in ## What we learned How to use React and TailwindCSS to quickly design and iterate on a user interface. ## What's next for ClockedIn Habit customization: Allowing users to set individual deadlines or add reminders. Gamification: Adding rewards, badges, and levels for maintaining long streaks. Group features: Introducing leaderboards and group challenges to make habit-building even more exciting. Mobile app: Expanding ClockedIn to mobile platforms for easier photo uploads and notifications. AI-driven insights: Providing users with insights and recommendations based on their streak history to improve habit retention.
