Inspiration

We were inspired to create an engaging platform combining LeetCode's coding challenges with Kahoot's interactive format, aimed at stimulating interest in STEM careers for children under 12. At the intersection of innovation and education, emerges a groundbreaking platform poised to revolutionize how children under 12 engage with the captivating world of STEM. Introducing Codehoot, a visionary fusion of LeetCode's esteemed coding challenges and Kahoot's dynamic and interactive format.

How we built it

The project was built using React.js for the frontend and Firebase Firestore for the backend. We focused on creating a visually appealing and user-friendly interface, prioritizing seamless navigation and engaging coding challenges. With a visually stunning and seamlessly navigable user interface, our team sculpted a digital masterpiece combining multiple elements to truly create a captivating experience through the numerous means of design.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing educational content with gamified elements, integrating real-time features, and designing an intuitive interface for young users were our main challenges. Overcoming these required creative problem-solving and iterative improvements based on user feedback.

What we learned

We gained technical skills in React.js for frontend development, Firebase Firestore for database management, and user experience design principles for younger audiences. Conceptually, we learned about gamification's role in educational platforms and fostering interest in complex subjects like coding.
