Inspiration
• Evan Kim: Working at a Korean startup as Product Manager, I was surprised by how much time I spent looking at original documentation and translating/interpreting them for engineers on my team. That's when I started realizing that learning how to code (from your first Python line to advanced frameworks) is miles harder if you are not a native English speaker.
• Jade Martin: My first design experience was at a small startup in Korea in 2020 with a team of developers from Korea, Spain and me, from the US. Our main language for communication was Korean. While CodeLingo has its main uses for non-English speakers to learn code in their native language, it would have been a big help for me and my Spanish co-worker to learn code terminology and documentation in Korean and communicate more effectively with our team.
• Pascal Bell: There are so many useful chat-based AI out there, but most of them are English-focused. Instead of asking questions to those chat-based AIs (i.e. ChatGPT) in a foreign language, as someone who studies French, I often find alternative translating AI models to be much more useful.
