Inspiration

We were heavily inspired by BeReal for its way of connecting users daily through pictures! We also wanted to have a way for users to connect without speaking the same language, so art came to mind!

What it does

Codoodle gives users a daily prompt where they will be allowed to create a doodle for said prompt, then share it to their friends and other users (the public) if they want to.

How we built it

We used Figma and Canva for UI/general design development. We also used Xcode, Swift, and SQL for our iOS app/backend/database.

Challenges we ran into

We had many challenges! From learning Figma to trying to figure out how to use Swift with SQL, issues happened consistently, but we kept our heads up!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Developing my first logo and using Figma to develop a UI -(Matt) Used Figma for the first time and designed the UI without prior experience -(Joyce) Successfully learned and developed an iOS application utilizing Swift -(Alejandro & Aryan)

What we learned

Gained more experience with designing an app layout through Figma and Canva. Learned how to integrate a Python FastAPI backend w/ a SQLITE database to work with Swift.

What's next for Codoodle

We hope to fully flesh out the app + make it fully functional and implement the following features: Doodle rankings using public feed + a like system (display top doodles from yesterday!), Automatic moderation, More language support, Dark Mode
