Inspiration

we just wanted a place to collect easy college recipes. the so-called "easy recipes" online are often too tedious and time-consuming for the average college student.

What it does

this is a website for students to look up easy recipes to cook in college. the provides the ingredients, steps, and cook times of easy-versions of popular recipes. it also keeps track of an inventory that notes what ingredients you have at home, telling the user what ingredients they are missing for recipes

How we built it

we built it using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON on repl.it. JSON was used as our database.

Challenges we ran into

JSON parsing. and implementing buttons in JavaScript.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we were finally able to get JSON parsing. we started out not knowing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON. the fact that we are able to turn a project is astonishing.

What we learned

we learned how to do really fancy things with HTML buttons.

What's next for collegeCooking();

we want to implement a page where students are able to add to our recipe database. we also want to implement a search bar for recipes and possibly a filter by ingredients/cook time. (honestly we do hope to add in a collection of microwave recipes haha)
