🎨 Inspiration

Time is always running — and sometimes it feels like it’s running us. I wanted to flip that idea and create something simple that turns time into play. Color Rush was born: a 30‑second focus challenge that melts stress and sparks joy.

🎯 What it does

You’ve got 30 seconds. A target color flashes on screen. Find it. Click it. Repeat. ✅ Score climbs with every correct click. ✅ Leaderboard tracks your wins. ✅ You leave feeling lighter, focused, and refreshed

🛠️ How I built it

  • Pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks, no installs.
  • LocalStorage handles leaderboard and personal best.
  • Fun UI tweaks: color pop animations, clean design, smooth hover effects — all lightweight.

⚡ Challenges I ran into

  • Making the game feel modern and polished without heavy libraries.
  • Keeping code ultra‑light so it runs by just opening an HTML file.
  • Getting leaderboard storage & score summaries to work seamlessly across pages.

🏆 Accomplishments that I proud of

  • Built a game that’s fun, stress‑busting, and instantly playable.
  • Created a clean, responsive UI with just CSS magic.
  • Made it hackathon‑friendly — no installs, no setup, just pure click‑and‑play.

📚 What I learned

  • UX matters — tiny touches like “personal best” & animations make a huge difference.
  • Time pressure in games is powerful — it engages players instantly.
  • How to balance simplicity and creativity for hackathon projects.

🚀 What’s next for ⏳ Color Rush

🎵 Sound effects (tick‑tock countdown, satisfying clicks).
🏅 Online leaderboard for global competition.
🎮 Mobile touch‑friendly mode so anyone can play anywhere.
🎭 More game modes — like “Reverse Rush” where you avoid the target color.
