Connectio

Too often, people stay home instead of attending events because they don’t want to go alone. Connectio was created to bring people together at their favorite events.

Inspiration

We were inspired by attending large events without actually building any community with other attendees.

What it does

Connectio helps users connect to other people who are attending the same events in order to develop a stronger sense of community among the attendees.

How we built it

We used vanilla javascript for the front-end of our web app, while using Django for the back-end of our web app.

Challenges we ran into

There were a few typos that costed us a lot of time hunting for them. We also had a difficult time configuring the websockets.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing a presentable and fully functional version of a web app that has practical usage.

What we learned

Learning new technology, software development process, and collaborative skills. (BUTTON ANIMATIONS!)

What's next for Connectio

Ease interaction between users, apply distance calculation via google maps api to filter events by distance, more advanced button animations, etc.
