Inspiration
Meeting new people needs to be easier! College is an extremely stressful time especially for first year students, so creating an accessible way of finding new people is something we need!
What it does
ConnectPSU connects two people in a chat room with a live video and audio feed and allows them to have a conversation in real time!
How I built it
I built the backend in Flask, frontend in React, and implemented the Twilio Live Video and Audio APIs (as well as the Twilio's email verification system) for the video feeds.
What's next for ConnectPSU
I want to make it so that only Penn State students are able to use this product because it is meant for students to meet other students. This will be done through an email verification service. Furthermore, I want to make it so that once people are done talking to one another, it automatically queues them for the next person available!
