Inspiration

As young adults we struggle with updating ourselves with the current global and national news. On one side we are acostumed to interact with short content, and on the other hand we understand information better with the use of memes, references to the series, books and shows that we like. The problem we have is that current newspapers and websites don't offer the option of a shorter and attractive for younger audiences, whom have a shorter span focus. One thing we love is gossiping, since the information is presented in a friendly manner and most of us have used gossiping as a form of communication. We would like to have context on what is happening in our modern world in an attractive way for us.

What it does

The webpage uses artificial intelligence to retrieve the news relevant on a national and international level. Then the information is processed, sintesized and adapted to the tastes of our target audience. It also has the option to check the original news and at the same time the audio option is available.

How we built it

We used streamlit in order to create the webpage and used APIs such as World News Api in order to retrieve and present the information.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into the challenge of incorporating the APIs into the streamlit since we were working on a team and using LiveShare. On the other hand we ran into the challenge of the limited options of free api usage and the restriction we had with the free ones.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We succesfully launched a website that coukd help people to get informed about the current newsthat are relevant to our society.

What we learned

We learned how to use artificial intelligence through api implementation. We also learned about web development and the usage of Streamlit, all from scratch.
