Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project was to make a more user-friendly and engagement friendly learning platform for students during the COVID-19 crisis
What it does
Our platform is essentially designed to be very user friendly by showing all of your upcoming assignments and grades, along with a progress wheel that shows the percentage of work that has been done by that day.
How we built it
We originally tried using the react-js framework, however we soon realized that our foray into web development would not be all sunshine and rainbows, so we decided to use WIX instead due to our focus on the website layout itself.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was that not one of us knew how to do website development. Most of us didn't know how to even read and use HTML/CSS/JS, let alone make a graphical, not-an-eyesore website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We actually managed to make a working prototype in the end, though it may not be the best website in the world.
What we learned
We learned how to do version control through github, we learned react-js basics, and we learned how to use several problem solving techniques in a group.
What's next for
Our next step with this website would most likely be to rebuild the website from the ground up after learning the basics of firebase, html, css, js, and react-js. We would also host the website with a proper host, and a custom domain name.
