Inspiration

The inspiration behind Coursmix stemmed from the frustration of scattered educational content online. I aimed to create a platform that aggregates and structures learning materials for a seamless educational experience.

What it does

Coursmix is an ed-tech platform that enables users to create structured courses from diverse sources available on the web. It serves as an aggregator, allowing educators to compile and organize content into scheduled courses for learners.

How we built it

I built Coursmix using Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Node.js. I used MongoDB as primary database. The UI was designed initially in Figma, and I implemented most of the frontend and backend functionalities. Due to time constraints during the hackathon, the integration between the frontend and backend remained static.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was technical, I have mostly worked on front-end projects, this was my first full stack project which affected the full integration of frontend and backend functionalities. Additionally, ensuring seamless aggregation of diverse content types posed a technical challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the time constraints, I successfully developed a user-friendly frontend interface and laid the groundwork for seamless course creation. I also managed to structure the platform's UI/UX effectively.

What we learned

This project taught me the importance of efficient time management during development. I gained valuable insights into frontend design, user experience considerations, and the complexities of aggregating diverse content sources.

What's next for Coursemix

The immediate goal is to integrate the frontend and backend functionalities to enable dynamic content creation. Additionally, I aim to enhance user interaction, refine the course creation process, and expand the platform's content sources for a more comprehensive learning experience.
