Inspiration

In previous hackathon's I worked with programmers of the same skill level as mine. However, this year I decided to work with two beginners and teach them a little about basic web development. They had great ideas, and we managed to develop a solid game. They learned the basic idea of web development, and what is needed to master it.

What it does

The game was inspired by a Rubik's cube that was sitting on our desk. We decided to create a grid similar to the cube, however, the game tells you a color and the user has to tap it as fast as they can to gain some score.

How we built it

Everything was built from scratch. No fancy frameworks, just pure coding. All of the code was developed by me, but all the ideas, art designs, colors, game logic came from my team mates

Challenges we ran into

We wanted the game to fit into a phone screen, however we didn't have the time to fit accordingly. We also ran into frame rate issues in our phones, when running the game.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

My team experienced their first hackathon ever, and I couldn't be prouder of what we accomplished.

What we learned

We learned that basic ideas can become really fun and challenging. Specially, when it's the first time seeing it.

What's next for Crazy Cube

Currently is been hosted on a server for all of our friends to try it out! =)
