Inspiration
Inspiration for this website was from a campus tour. The original website idea was to help look for other minorities in the area but, the idea was later expanded from looking at one group of people to looking at multiple groups of people.
Demo
The general idea is that users will be able to make a profile and describe who they are. Tags can include gender, race, school year, and field of study to name a few. After creating a profile, users will be able to see a population density map based on the tags the user has chosen. They will also be able to "check in" meaning users will be able to share their location for others to see. In this demo, a hypothetical student profile is created and a map shows where students with the same tags are located.
Future Expansion
In the future, we would like to expand the project to have fully operational profiles and expand its usage worldwide. We hope that this website can help connect people within their communities and find new people like themselves.
