Do you want misinformation to be flagged on sites rather than left-leaning circles of X DOT COM?
Do you want potentially harmful and triggering content to NEVER GRACE YOUR EYES?
Do you want grandmemaw to avoid seeing fake AI generated images of children begging for money on her FACEBOOK FEED?
Do you want to watch a video and REALLY WANT TO KNOW IF THERE'S A JUMPSCARE SOMEWHERE AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Do you just really hate slop?
Thankfully, there's others out there that feel the same way! This extension allows for generic crowdsourced filtering of posts on various social media websites, bearing similarity to Twitter's existing Community Notes, but offering significant improvements such as:
- Finer grained reporting and filtering of content
- Ability to automatically remove posts that you wish to have filtered
- More comprehensive collaboration and voting system
- WIP: Being able to create your own filters and "filtering communities" to target other specific content of your choosing.
In an ideal world, this can be further generalised but for the timebeing, we've chosen Twitter itself (to improve upon it's existing Community Notes), Facebook (a website that is continually being ravaged by AI slop and bait content) and YouTube (where your uncle you see once every few months watches flat earth conspiracy theory videos on). Support for more sites can be expanded in future...
Make the internet a safer and more human-centric place once again, one Report (from the 2018 hit video game by Innersloth, Among Us) at a time.
What it does
The project is a Chrome extension that revolutionizes how we interact with social media content. It allows users to:
- Flag potentially misleading or harmful content across major platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter)
- View and validate existing reports from other community members
- Customize their browsing experience through personalized filter settings
- Remove posts with certain content warnings entirely from their feed
When enough users report a piece of content, the extension action based on individual user preferences, from displaying warnings to complete content filtering. Think of it as a collaborative immune system for your social media feed, powered by real people making informed decisions.
