Crypto Cork

Inspiration

Our inspiration for this project was how in recent times, misinformation has become a major issue for media outlets. We hope that encryption can be a potential solution to this problem by preventing news leaks.

What it does

Crypto Cork consolidates encryption all in one place, with three varying degrees of encryption possible (Caesar Cipher, Vigenere, and RSA).

How we built it

We used VSCode and worked with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create this website.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we faced were problems with variables and errors with individual functions and methods. We resolved them by debugging and working through issues part by part. We also had issues making a domain.com website, so we created a website from scratch instead.

We attempted to create a domain.com website using cryptocork.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our proudest accomplishment is creating a beautiful final product that acts as a great encryption software. Despite all of the issues we faced, we managed to create a functional website with various features.

What we learned

We learned about the intricacies of web design and how to work through technical issues using methods such as debugging, research, and collaboration. We also improved our tamwork and learned how to work effectively in a group.

What's next for Crypto Cork

We hope to add more encryption techniques to this website and also expand the features of the software, such as by allowing users to input the values used for the encryption and adding decryption.
