Inspiration
The animation was inspired by the BrainPop videos and Gizmo games, both of which I used in elementary/middle school.
What it does
Simulates an old-school windows desktop, and features a profile, messenger, and applications, with 3 mini games and a quiz in the applications. Completing the quiz rewards a certificate.
How I built it
Made with the Unity game engine, coded with C#. Images were mainly made with Pixlr.
Challenges I ran into
I made the general layout a bit more complicated than necessary, which took away time to flesh out the mini games. Also the text function is really hard to use for no reason, and I found myself having to use Pixlr a lot for texts.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
It has a beginning, a middle, and an end, with a natural progression. It feels like a game I would have really played back in elementary school.
What I learned
Learned a lot more about the Unity Engine. Also how to make graphic separately that can be used in the game.
What's next for CyberEducation
I could probably add some more mini games, that are more complex. Also some easter eggs, which I always enjoy finding in games that I play.
