Cyclify

Inspiration

With Cyclicfy, we had two main goals: - advocate on sustainable options by informing users of negative impacts on non-sustainable forms of transportation.- encourage users to engage in physical activity through cycling to and from destinations

What it does

Through cyclify, users are able input their current location and where they would like to go and we help them determine the quickest bike route to their destination. Not only that, but users will be able to see how much carbon emissions would have been produced if they decided to drive their own vehicle, or take public transportation.

How we built it

We built it using REACT.js, Typescript, Leaflet API, MapQuest API, Climatiq API, SASS, and GitHub.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge we ran into were time management and we struggled to find the right data to integrate our application together.

Accomplishments that we are proud of

We are proud that we managed to build an application from scratch in 24 hours!

What we learned

We learned how to properly delegate responsibilities so people could work independently and avoid merge conflicts.

We would like to integrate user accounts. In their accounts users can save their favourite locations, view their trip history and see how much carbon emmisions their have reduced overall
