Inspiration

DAIMon: Your AI Companion in Augmented Reality Inspiration

Remember the magic of Digimon, where digital companions evolved alongside you? That sense of wonder and personalized connection sparked the idea for DAIMon. I always wanted a Digimon in real life, a companion who’d grow and learn alongside me. That’s the driving force behind this project.

What it does

DAIMon is a multimodal virtual companion that combines the engaging world of augmented reality (AR) with the personalization of AI. Imagine:

A unique 3D character living on your phone, visible through your camera in AR.

A companion that doesn't just listen but also sees and responds to your environment, creating a shared experience.

A virtual being that visually evolves alongside you, learning from your interactions and growing into a true reflection of your journey together.

How we built it

I’m using a combination of cutting-edge technologies to bring DAIMon to life:

ARKit/ARCore: For seamlessly integrating the DAIMon into the real world through augmented reality.

Unity/Unreal Engine (Or similar): For creating the DAIMon's 3D model, animations, and interactive AR experience.

Python (with libraries like TensorFlow or PyTorch): For developing the AI and machine learning components that power the DAIMon's learning, object recognition, and potentially even natural language processing.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing Visual Appeal with Performance: Creating a visually engaging 3D character that runs smoothly on mobile devices, especially within an AR environment.

Multimodal Interaction Design: Developing intuitive ways for users to interact with their DAIMon both through touch and by leveraging the DAIMon’s understanding of the physical environment.
