Inspiration
Introducing DareShare: where each day transforms into an exhilarating adventure. In this modern age, everyone is glued to their phones, often lost in the digital realm, scrolling through feeds and swiping through stories without interacting with people around us. That's why we created DareShare, to bring people around us together and get people to interact with their surroundings.
What it does
Everyday, users get a notification to complete a dare. Our dares are designed to challenge users to explore new surrounding and foster genuine human connection, pushing users to go beyond the confines of routine and into the realm of discovery. Users can also upload and share their dare experiences, encouraging others to join in the vibrant community of dare-takers.
How we built it
We started the project by brainstorming ideas and plan out what we need to build. We then drew out the design and built our application with React and imported necessary libraries such as Material UI and routing services.
Challenges we ran into
Managing our time and building the application were quite challenging for us, since most of us are fairly new to software development and we had to research about suitable ways to implement our interface during the limited timeframe.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the limited time and experience we have, we managed to finalize our project and we've learnt a lot on the way, both personally and from the great mentors. It was a lot of hard work which seems quite daunting at start, but with the determination to give it our best in the hackathon, we were able to finish our prototype.
What we learned
Not only we learnt more about web development, we also gained project-planning experiences and video-making skills.
What's next for DareShare
Implementing the backend and bring DareShare to reality to build a community of DareSharers.
