Inspiration

We found that there wasn't a skill in Alexa that suited our needs for prioritizing and scheduling out events in our daily life. And so, we decided to fill this gap by building this Alexa Skill.

What it does

Allow you to prioritize and schedule daily events. In addition, it assists your daily planning by providing weather and news information features.

How we built it

We used the Alexa SDK for Node.js to develop the Alexa Skill.Then we deployed the app with AWS Lambda and stored the data on DynamoDB.

Challenges we ran into

Technical difficulties implementing the scheduling algorithm for the events.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

First time building and finishing an Alexa Skill.

What we learned

Learned more about the AWS platform, specifically DynamoDB and Lambda. Also learned more about Node.js.

What's next for Dayplanner

More features for the planner and more functionalities and flexibility for scheduling.
