Inspiration
During our inaugural participation in a web3 hackathon, Raj and I delved into the intricacies of the Flow network. However, instead of focusing on our project's development, we found ourselves grappling with convoluted documentation and a frustrating setup process. It became evident that the overly complex setup and tedious documentation served as significant barriers preventing numerous developers from venturing into new blockchain networks.
What it does
In our platform, we offer a range of features to enhance user experience:
1) Interactive Dashboard: A dynamic interface providing users with a comprehensive overview of their activities, progress, and relevant statistics.
2) Learning Page: A dedicated section designed to elucidate vital concepts, serving as a knowledge repository to support users in their learning journey.
3) Warm-up Section: An area specifically crafted for users to engage in practice exercises and hands-on activities, enabling them to reinforce their understanding and skills.
4) Battleground Section: A competitive arena where users can test their knowledge and abilities against others, fostering a sense of challenge and achievement within the community.
5) Redeem Store: An integrated marketplace where users can exchange their earned tokens for a variety of commodities or goodies, incentivizing participation and rewarding engagement.
These features collectively enrich the platform, catering to different user preferences and facilitating a holistic learning and engagement experience.
How we built it
We've successfully completed the compiler aspect of our project. However, we've encountered challenges during the integration with blockchain networks. Our frontend utilizes React and Vite, while we've compiled and deployed the Solidity smart contract for token minting using Hardhat. Additionally, we've developed the backend code using Node.js.
Challenges we ran into
We faced quite many challenges while integrating the network using RPC configuration and writing a validation program for output hash matching and minting tokens. We were facing issues while building the Robin Karp algorithm for hash matching.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Engaging Learning: we are having theme-based challenges whether its Storied or gamified to make it indulging
- Code & Earn aspect
- We act a bridge between Developors and web3 networks via Proof of work of the developer through tokens
What's next for DcodeBlock
2024 Goal :- Implementing a market grade version of Dcodeblock involving only code practice through our theme based and project based questions. We see ourselves collaborating with Blockchain Giants such as Ethereum to provide developer friendly content on our website. We look forward to a 10,000+ user onboarding with an average of 30 min/day usage. (Financials :- From the looks of various technical businesses, we would be burning cash in this year)
2025 :- Dcodeblock has now turned into a 50k+ user platform, with a regular 30 min/day usage and now regular hackathons and contests are being conducted on our website ,with top winners getting DCB coins on win. As of current thought, DCB tokens are utility tokens which have access to our personal market space on the website for developer goodies and act as a PoW for developer’s metal. Dcodeblock also plays a pivotal role for aspirational high school developers to join world class tech institutes offering the best blockchain and web3 specialisation courses. This will be made possible through our collaboration with educational firms and institutes. (Financials :- We expect to break even , given the amazing growth opportunities in using the blockchain network)
2026:- Dcodeblock is an accredited source of amazing web3 developers who have started their coding journey through us. Companies utilise the coding history of the users to analyse their competence levels and offer them jobs likewise. We are standing at a solid 200k+ users. We have companies like Ethereum to Mastercard , Ripple to R3 conducting internship drives through our platform leveraging the amazing coding environment.
2027:- Our token economics has proven to be a success in grabbing attention of low-fund coders and awarding them with a proof of work for their coding experience. This year , we look to pivot into becoming a coding platform for all emerging technologies like AI, Data Structures, Algorithms , Data Analytics ,etc. We see a massive gain in user growth as more and more tech domains have been offered to the coders to work on and earn money on top of it through our token economics. We find major product companies utilising our platform for training drives and internship opportunities. This further allows the companies to collaborate with us(in the blockchain industry) and hence evolve their business onto blockchain. We are a 1M+ strong users. (Financials :- We capture 500-600 million market and our industry giants in blockchain). Through our sensible token economics and the attached utility, there is quite a less chance of DCB coin failure considering the high failure rate of Coins after ICOs.
2028:- Sky's the limit. Personally, apart from the business and financials, we hope that our product has been successful in placing brilliant coders in web3 and product-based companies thus accelerating technological innovation. That’s all that matters in our present, that’s all that will matter in the future and there on
