Making loans accessible for all

What it does

Allows users across the globe to lend real currency to each other on a decentralized, trust-backed system.

How We built it

We used smart contracts written in Solidity to facilitate a fool-proof lending system, and used React to build out the front end and communicate with the smart contracts

Challenges I ran into

Integrating smart contracts with React, as well handling floating point numbers in both React and Solidity. Neither JavaScript nor Solidity support floating point numbers, and because is a financial application, we needed to be able to send decimal values of a currency.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Getting it done and making the website beautiful.

What I learned

What's next for Decentralend

Adding in support for an on-ramp for fiat to crypto, and better formatting of values in app.
