Inspiration

Inspired by the recent uprise of battle-royale style games and our inability to decide on anything as a team, Decision Royale exists at the crossroad of both a trend and necessity.

What it does

Decision Royale allows a user to input a series of options where they must choose one but can't decide between them. Using either of the two in-built game modes, the app helps you decide your top pick by letting you choose between different options in a digestible format. With an integrated timer, Decision Royale prompts quick impulsive decision making to help the user choose their top option with minimal effort or struggle.

Who's it for

You! We know you can't decide on what to order at restaurants even though you always end up choosing the same boring Schnitty. We see you scroll through Netflix longer than you actually spend watching whatever you choose. We can tell you're having relationship problems due to your indecisiveness. Decision Royale will turn you into a decision making machine.

How we built the prototype

We built this app using JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, and of course Figma. Our app is programmed with React and uses client-side code to handle the logic of your decision making. Bye using React hooks we manage the state of our program throughout the decision making cycle. It has an elegant and beautiful user interface made with CSS and allows simple and intuitive interaction with the program.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into while building Decision Royale include our inability to translate Figma prototyping to responsive CSS, as well as integrating forms and lists with JavaScript etc as we had experience in neither languages before.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning CSS and JavaScript in one day was an achievement, but more than that we have a completed product that directly represents our prototype and our vision from the beginning - which is a testament to our communication and time management.

What we learned

We learned that CSS makes life much harder than it needs to be for no reason at all.

What's next for Decision Royale

In the future we'd like to see more game modes added to the app, with more visual thematics and aesthetic appeal. This includes a button that chooses the game mode for you.
