Inspired by the increasing need for tools that promote fairness in written online content throughout the internet.
What it does
DeepRead is a web application that detects different types of bias in text, such as racial, gender, age, and political bias. It not only highlights biased language but also suggests neutral alternatives. Additionally, DeepRead offers a rewriter tool a fun “Beat the Bias” game that teaches users about bias.
How we built it
- Frontend: HTML/JS/CSS
- Backend: Python, ML models, HTTP Requests
- AI Model: Custom Machine Learning models to detect different types of biases
What's next for DeepRead
- Adding support for more types of bias and multilingual text analysis.
- Launching a browser extension for real-time bias detection.
