Inspiration
We envisage a possible future similar to that of Orwell's '1984.' We invite users to explore our imagined world through a brutalist desktop interface, where they face the potential consequences of unethical AI usage and censorship.
What it does
Educational simulacra of a desktop set in the year 2080, in a dystopian future that we imagine as a possibility.
How we built it
React frontend flask backend mysql database, neuphonic ai
Challenges we ran into
Neuphonic ai was a pain to work with and learning to connect flask and react was not enjoyable for members of the team who haven't worked with them in conjunction before.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The UI and frontend look exactly how we envisaged as a group, and the final endgame objective was implemented as well. The backend, although shallow, still functioned properly.

What's next for Desktopia
More educational lessons and a more engaging game loop. A more rewarding experience overall for the user.
