DEVELOPER_PANDITS

The main aim of the product is to reduce the delay caused in current security services delivered by the police. The app also has the feature of community policing, by registering volunteers.

Inspiration

The delay in current services provided as well as the Nirbhaya and Dr. Reddy gang rape case triggered this idea in our mind.

What it does

It connects an individual in emergency to the nearest police officer so as to reduce the delay in emergency situations. It will also help the people stranded at unknown places or they are in some non-emergency situation but need help as we have kept an option of registering volunteers who will be connected to the person in help using the same algorithm as police. The police will also have the option to post details of missing people, criminals, articles related to security, etc on the user side of the app.

How I built it

It was built using react native for front end and for server-side we have followed a serverless approach by using firebase.

Challenges I ran into

Connecting an individual to the nearest police was one of the challenges we faced.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The idea that we are saving lives as well as reducing the delay in emergency situations is the thing we are proud of.

What I learned

I learned that we must have a never give up attitude as hackathons resemble marathons and the one who persists is the one who gets success.

What's next for DEVELOPER_PANDITS

Creating wearable devices for this system is our immediate aim.
