Inspiration
Hackathons are the most exciting event and fun to be a part of. It brings out many qualities within us that we weren't aware of. Participating hackathon along with teammates is so much fun and so organizing is. But everything comes with its own pros and cons. Some hackathons are hours long while others last for months. It can be very draining and exhausting for the organizing team sometimes. Being an organizer myself and having organized multiple offline and online hackathons, I have faced many difficulties and have had to manage many problems on the spot which isn't an easy task. I have noticed some management problems that can be fixed by my app idea. These problems inspired me to think outside the box and come up with a solution that can be helpful to both organizers and participants for the smooth flow of the whole event. As participants will be glued to their phone and laptop screen, I think would be the perfect tool that they require.
Due to the lack of time, the prototype couldn't be prepared. Below, I'll just try to put down my ideas.
What it does
This is just an app with a lot of features as it helps both participants and organizers. Participants can form and manage teams, and contact organizers directly while organizers get a detailed dashboard along with demographics about the participants and can respond to their queries within no time.
Features: For Participants: (Requires creating an account) Role-based access. a. Unique access codes for registration and check-in. b. Add and manage teammates via email or phone number. c. Coupons access and usage (for food and drinks and other complimentary) d. View announcements. e. Real-time schedule update. f. Push notifications about all events, timelines, and any last-moment changes.
For Organizers: (Requires creating an account)ba. Unique access code for the organizing teams a. Role-based access. b. Creating and managing organizing team c. Sending custom push notifications (Can be very helpful for announcements and last-moment updates) d. Participant Management (like violating the code of conduct, or any other notes visible only to the organizing teams) e. Youtube live streams of speaker sessions/workshops f. Can able to send messages to teams as well as individual members also.
How we built it
The potential tech stack would be the MERN stack.
